The Art of Storytelling at Home

We are in the midst of our greatest story.

This is our life we are creating each day.

May we have space to express and play out these stories.

“Let your house be a place to tell stories. By surrounding yourself with objects and translations of your very own travel observations, you create a place full of your memories, a unique, authentic place that reflects your personality.”

Sibela Court

home is where... {fill in the blank} what does home mean to you?

Home can be your sanctuary, your place to be you in all your you-ness, a place to nurture your dreams. Embracing the journey of creating a home you love - a home that tells your highest story.

Celebrate the Rituals of Home Life

IMG_20170217_132532.jpg

I believe seeing home life as a Sacred Ritual can elevate everyday life to a new level. Imagine if you could turn everyday routines into special moments.

Why not turn your home into a sancturary for your life? It would a combination of intention + presence.

Good DESIGN is no longer just about colour, function and aesthetics. It is about creating a product, an idea, a space that can enhance our life and help us deal with what obstacles this changing world is throwing at us. Our houses are no longer simply homes but places where we work, study, socialise and shop. We demand dwellings that celebrate the rituals of domestic life and allow for privacy and change of mood.

Some ideas on activities that can become 'rituals' when they are consciously done  with clear intention:

  • Waking Up

  • Make the bed thank the bed

  • Music while cleaning up

  • Opening all the windows welcoming a breathe of fresh air + a fresh start

  • A candle blessing

  • Thanking things as they are put away.

  • Food prep

  • Brushing teeth

  • Showering

  • Going to Bed

I will leave this musing here and revisit each topic above as I continue to practice experiencing the everyday as ritual.

Be Wonderful
